Il gagna deux Grands Prix (Pays-Bas et Grande Bretagne en 1961) en 27 courses disput&eacute;es (dont 14 dans les points) en six saisons entre 1957 (GP d&#39;Argentine) et 1961 (GP d&#39;Italie). Six podiums au total et auteur d&#39;une pole-position (56 pts marqu&eacute;s). 156 tours en t&ecirc;te (788 km) et 1340 tours parcourus (7804 km). Mort le 10 septembre 1971 &agrave; 33 ans lors lors du 2e tour du Grand Prix d&#39;Italie (son 27e Grand Prix) sur le circuit de Monza apr&egrave;s un accrochage avec Jim Clark. Cet accident avait &eacute;galement provoqu&eacute; la mort de 13 spectateurs.
