The 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz (SUI) presented by Audi got underway on 6th February, with FIS President Gian Franco Kasper officially opening the event during the Opening Ceremony.

On 6th February 2017 in St. Moritz (SUI), Longines announced the official launch of its new timekeeping and data handling technology for Alpine Skiing, which is going to be used for the St Moritz 2017 and FIS World Cup downhill and super-G races.

There is just one month to go before the Opening Ceremony of the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships on 7th March.

On Sunday 5th February the FIS Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships came to a close in Park City (USA).

From 3rd-5th February 2017, the FIS Cross-Country and Nordic Combined World Cups presented by Viessmann took centre stage in PyeongChang (KOR), which served as official test events for the Olympic Winter Games 2018.

Snowboard ace Anna Gasser (AUT) and ski star Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) are on the United States Sports Academy’s Athlete of the Month ballot for January.

As part of the recent Olympic test events for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang (KOR), the Korea Anti-Doping Agency promoted the values of clean sport and fair play.
